Machine Heart
Machine Heart is a 2.5 Sci-fi Puzzle-Adventure Game developed in Unity with a 45-person multidisciplinary game team as a year-long advanced game project published by USC Games on Steam.
The game weaves together narratives across different timelines. Players take on the role of Avis, a defiant scientist hunted for her research, and Vox, a sentient robot who struggles to recover his lost memories. While navigating their intertwined journeys, players will discover the striking secret that holds the key to humanity’s fate in a post-apocalyptic world.
Players will face the challenge of unraveling cross-timeline puzzles, blending exciting action sequences to traverse an apocalyptic world. In the end, players will decide how to use the knowledge they’ve acquired throughout their adventure.

Key Contributions
- Collaborated within a three-person narrative team to craft a post-apocalyptic setting across two timelines, aligning world architecture and aesthetics with the narrative vision. Developed detailed documentation of environments and cultures to guide art and UI teams and serve as a reference for consistent exposition writing.
- Wrote over 15 pieces of scripts to be scattered around the scene to create a believable and engaging backdrop for the game’s unfolding chapters.
Crafted thought-provoking dialogues and designed smooth narrative transitions to enrich character development and the player’s personal reflection on themes of free will and humanity. These elements converge in the central scene, providing a provoking moment that ties together the dual timelines and invites players to refelct on their experiences.
Wrote one of the most essential and climactic scenes in the story where players, such as Vox, engage in a pivotal conversation with Avis’ remaining conscious, guiding them toward making the final decision about the fate of humanity. This interaction was designed to enrich the narrative while fostering Avis’ journey of self-discovery.
